Sales and Marketing
The AACPS Sales and Marketing programs are based on the AACPS Body of Knowledge (BOK) for Sales and Marketing. Principles of Marketing introduces you to the essentials of marketing (key concepts, methods of analysis, strategies and tactics) critical to managing customer relationships in today’s dynamic and connected environment. The course focuses on what it takes to be successful in managing the sales function in a personal, direct sales environment. It helps participants in the position of being a prospective sales manager. This context helps the student better relate to the realities of the environment and how the concepts can be applied to sales in reality. The program will provide the student with a systematic framework for understanding how sales is distinguished from marketing, and what it takes to effectively manage the sales function.

A sale is the act of selling a product or service in return for money or other compensation. Signalling completion of the prospective stage, it is the beginning of an engagement between customer and vendor or the extension of that engagement. The seller or salesperson – the provider of the goods or services – completes a sale in response to an acquisition or to an appropriation or to a request.

Sales Methods:
1. Direct sales, involving person to person contact
2. Pro forma sales
3. Agency-based
4. Traveling salesman
5. Request for proposal

7. Electronic
8 Indirect, human-mediated but with indirect contact

Marketing is the process of communicating the value of a product or service to customers, for the purpose of influencing buyer behaviour and/or precipitate behavioural change. Marketing can be looked at as an organizational function and a set of processes for creating, delivering and communicating value to customers, and managing customer relationships in ways that also benefit the organization and its shareholders. Marketing is the science of choosing target markets through market analysis and market segmentation, as well as understanding consumer buying behaviour and providing superior customer value.

The four components of holistic marketing are
1. Relationship marketing
2. Internal marketing
3. Integrated marketing
4. Socially responsive marketing
